Europe is a landscape of histories, cultures, economies, politics and spiritual conditions. This diverse and complex position offers unique challenges and opportunities for Ministries.

For years, Europe has been subject to the profound influences of Humanism, Secularism and Liberalism. Steady decline in church attendance has resulted in Christianity's rapid fall to a minority faith in Europe. Britain, with one of the largest concentrations of Asians and Muslims worldwide, also faces the significant impact of Islam. No longer assumed to be Christian, Britain and Pan European countries have become a mission field in need of spiritual revival.

And yet, faith is reappearing - and thriving in unexpected places - among immigrants and youth, a phenomenon that offers hope to many.

Across the entire Continent, immigrant congregations are thriving. Cut off from their own countries, the Church becomes a source of solace and solidarity for Europe's newest residents. U.K.'s biggest and fastest-growing congregations are African and more than half of London 's committed Christians are non-white.

Another interesting development is the rejuvenation of Christianity. From massive Taizé ecumenical pilgrimages to the millions of Catholic youth who attend yearly celebrations, there is no doubt that innovative churches and movements are growing.

The world's second smallest continent with roughly one seventh of the world's population offers a timely opportunity for North American Ministries. The high population density, most of whom speak English, offers extraordinary access to Media Ministries, not just in Europe, but to Mediterranean countries, the Middle East, all of Africa and most of the former Soviet block countries!
